Congressman Fattah Announces $1 Million in Humanities Grants to Philadelphia Organizations
WASHINGTON, March 23, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Congressman Chaka Fattah (PA-02), a Senior Member of the House Appropriations Committee, announced that seven organizations in his Philadelphia-area district have received new grant awards from the National Endowment for the Humanities. In total, the educational and cultural institutions will receive a combined $1,047,400 to support projects ranging from student fellowship programs to new art exhibits and humanities collections.
Local organizations receiving funding are: The Philadelphia Museum of Art, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, American Research Institute in Turkey, Society for Classical Studies, Haverford College, University of Pennsylvania, and The Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania.
