Ellis, Jr. has been appointed as Chairman of the Board, succeeding Walter Scott, Jr., during the meeting of Board of Directors held on May 22, 2014. Ellis has been a member of the Board since March 2005 and has also served as Chairman of the Board's Classified Business and Security Committee, and is also a member of the Nominating and Governance Committee. From 2005 until 2012, Ellis was the President and CEO of the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations. Gogo Inc. Analyst Notes
On May 22, 2014, Gogo Inc. (Gogo) announced that it received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and certification from the Japanese Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) to install Gogo's Ku-satellite based connectivity service on Japan Airlines'767-300 aircraft, the third aircraft type in JAL's fleet to receive FAA and JCAB approval. The Company partnered with JAL to install connectivity service and Gogo Vision, the wireless in-flight entertainment service, on JAL's domestic fleet. Currently, the Company holds more than 60 STCs for broadband connectivity services covering numerous commercial aircraft types and Gogo's ATG, ATG-4 and Ku-satellite band technologies.
