Condoleezza Rice Joins Hart Energy's DUG Conference
HOUSTON, Feb. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will deliver the keynote luncheon address at Hart Energy's 7th annual Developing Unconventionals (DUG™) conference and exhibition, April 23-25, 2012, at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
Rice was appointed National Security Adviser by President George W. Bush in 2001 — the first female to hold that position — and served as the 66th Secretary of State of the United States from January 2005 through 2009. Today, she is currently a professor of political economy in the Graduate School of Business and the author of "No Higher Honor: A Memoir of My Years in Washington."
She joins industry leaders on the DUG agenda, such as Floyd C. Wilson, founder and chief executive, Halcon Resources and former chairman and CEO, Petrohawk Energy, Scott Sheffield, chairman and CEO of Pioneer Natural Resources, Wolf E. Regener, president and CEO, BNK Petroleum, Inc., Steve Antry, CEO, Eagle Energy Company, of Oklahoma LLC, Robert C. Turnham, president and COO, Goodrich Petroleum Corporation, Frank F. Starr II, president, Crimson Energy Partners III LLC, Brandt O. Temple, president, Sunrise Exploration and Production and others.
This year's DUG conference will highlight emerging plays — including the Permian Basin's Wolfcamp, Bone Spring and Penn shale formations; the Utica in the Appalachian Basin; the Anadarko Basin's Mississippi Lime, Granite Wash and Hogshooter shale formations and the Eagle Ford in South Texas. DUG gives operators, investors and the service industry the updates on shale plays worldwide, including economics, drilling, activity and technologies needed to successfully develop these reserves.
