Concurrent Technologies Corporation's J. Pat Daugherty Named Special Operations Defense Industry Innovator of the Year by Greater Tampa Bay Chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association
LARGO, Fla., May 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Concurrent Technologies Corporation's (CTC's) J. Pat Daugherty, Director, Special Operations Programs, has received the Special Operations Defense Industry Innovator of the Year Award from the Greater Tampa Bay Chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA). The award was presented on May 19, 2011, at the Tampa Club in Tampa, Florida.

NDIA presents the Innovator of the Year Award to a local large special operations defense industry employee in recognition of innovative solutions directly supporting U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF). Mr. Daugherty received the award in recognition of his innovative leadership and acknowledged technology successes as the Program Manager for the Technology Infusion Cell (TIC) II Maverick and Special Operations Research and Development Acquisition Center (SORDAC) Support Program. This program directly supports U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) SORDAC Joint Acquisition Task Force (JATF) Agile Dagger.

Mr. Daugherty has provided superior and innovative technology support to SOF since 2008 as the TIC Program Manager. The TIC is a unique $30 million Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract specifically requested by SORDAC JATF to rapidly exploit emerging technologies related to increasing the speed, stealth, precision, lethality, and survivability of SOF around the globe. Through this contract, Mr. Daugherty and the Technology Infusion Cell have provided independent, unbiased, rapid research and evaluation of technology solutions supporting advanced technology concept development, demonstration, and validation with rapid design, fabrication, and integration of prototypes for operations in support of validated SOF requirements.
