Concurrent Technologies Corporation Makes 'Best Places to Work in PA' List for Tenth Consecutive Year
JOHNSTOWN, Pa., Dec. 7, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) is pleased to announce that for the tenth consecutive year, it has been named as one of the "100 Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania." Final rankings were announced and companies were honored at an awards ceremony on November 30, 2010. CTC ranked 28th in the large-sized company category. Of CTC's more than 1,400 employees nationwide, more than half work in Pennsylvania locations including Johnstown, Harrisburg, and Pittsburgh.
"CTC is one of only three companies statewide to make this list for ten consecutive years," said Edward J. Sheehan, Jr., CTC's President & Chief Executive Officer. "Our continued presence on the list speaks to our focus on creating an environment for our employees that is dynamic, growth-oriented, challenging, and educational."
The Best Places to Work in PA survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in Pennsylvania, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce, and businesses. The list is comprised of 100 companies divided into two groups: 50 medium-sized companies (25-250 employees) and 50 large-sized companies (251+ employees).
The list is a joint effort of the Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the state Department of Community and Economic Development, and Central Penn Business Journal. The awards are based partly on an evaluation of a company's workplace policies, practices, philosophies, systems, and demographics. But the main determinant in placing a company on the list is employee feedback. Results of employee surveys constitute 75 percent of a company's score.
CTC makes every effort to inspire employees to be their personal best. In 2010, CTC received a number of awards recognizing their efforts to create a world class organization for employees. CTC was named one of the Best Places to Work in Virginia, one of the Top 50 Nonprofits by Nonprofit Times, one of the Most Valuable Employers for Military by Civilianjobs.com, and a Top 100 Government Contractor by WashingtonTechnology Magazine. CTC was also recognized as one of the elite top three corporations under the "Employment" category for the S.M.A.R.T. 100 Awards. The 2010 S.M.A.R.T. 100 Awards honor America's top veteran, minority, and women-friendly corporations and agencies.
