Concurrent Technologies Corporation Awarded Contract to Support Department of Veterans Affairs, Acquisition Academy
JOHNSTOWN, Pa., June 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) has been awarded a contract to provide instructional system design services to the Department of Veterans Affairs, Acquisition Academy (VAAA), Contracting Professional School. The project will employ CTC's expertise in Learning and Human Performance.
As part of this contract, CTC will design and develop a Medical Sharing Contracting course that will be used to support the VAAA mission to train federal acquisition professionals. The course will support both face-to-face classroom training and distance learning, enabling learners to take the course at the Frederick, Maryland, VAAA training facility or at their worksite. Both course formats will incorporate blended learning principles, meeting course objectives through a variety of learning activities, including discussion, e-learning, discovery, team collaboration, and social learning. The Medical Sharing Contracting course is the first of such duel-formatted course offerings for the VAAA and will be used as a model to expand other course offerings into similar formats.
"This contract speaks to CTC's experience in creating innovative, customized solutions that benefit our clients and allow them to become agile learning organizations," said Edward J. Sheehan, Jr., CTC's President & Chief Executive Officer. "Because of the blended learning environment offered through the CTC-designed course, the VAAA will be able to train more acquisition professionals from across the country. CTC has supported the Department of Veterans Affairs in the past, but the Acquisition Academy is a new client. We look forward to applying our technical knowledge and innovative solutions to the benefit of the VAAA."
