SAN DIEGO, March 19, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Concurrent, a partnership of elite independent advisors affiliated with Raymond James Financial Services, Inc. (RJFS) (member FINRA/SIPC), with ambitious growth planned for 2020, kicked off the year by welcoming new advisors and offices in Colorado, California, Florida and Tennessee. So far this year, newly recruited teams have boosted the network's total assets under management by more than $367 million.
"We built this network to accelerate the growth of independent, entrepreneurial financial advisors and this is only the beginning of what we expect to achieve this year," said Mike Hlavek, Founding Partner, Concurrent. "We have a strong pipeline and a flood of unsolicited inquiries from advisors wanting to join our network. As our growth in the first quarter makes obvious, what we're doing resonates with entrepreneurially-minded advisors and we are well-positioned to continue growing our advisor headcount and asset total over the next 12 months."
The new additions, which consist of two teams and two solo practitioners, are emblematic of the type of growth Concurrent is experiencing.
Advanced Planning Wealth Management Group, based in Newport Beach, California is the latest team to leave the wirehouse environment for the greener pasture of independence offered by Concurrent. With $110 million in assets under management, the firm is led by Rod Smith, who brings more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. He was most recently Senior Vice President—Investment Officer for Wells Fargo Advisors. The team also includes Rod's son, Adam Smith, Janice Licea and Gina Williams.
Scott Garcia, who manages over $100 million in client assets, and likewise comes from Wells Fargo, has also chosen Concurrent to help him transition to independence. Garcia is branding Legacy Private Wealth Partners and opening its first Aspen, Colorado branch.
Joining as a solo practitioner with plans to grow his own firm is Jiles Kirkland, whose office is in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. Kirkland is also a Wells Fargo Advisors veteran who spent more than 10 years with that firm. He currently manages approximately $50 million in client assets for a variety of individuals, families and businesses.
Also choosing Concurrent in this robust first quarter is Lee House, an advisor with 12 years of experience at Edward Jones. He and his staff of two are based in Greenville, Tennessee, where they manage more than $117 million in client assets. House is branding himself as Brick House Wealth Strategies.
"Most advisors got into this business because they want to help people realize their financial goals and make their dreams a reality," added Kevin McFarland, Founding Partner,Concurrent. "That's gotten increasingly difficult for those advisors trapped within a bank or wirehouse environment, particularly those who know they can do it better. We created Concurrent so that those entrepreneurial advisors can have the independence they crave, along with the support of a large network and resources they could never afford on their own."
Although less than five years old, the Concurrent network now has over $7 billion in assets under management and more than $8 billion in assets under advisement, entrusted to its almost 100 advisors in 45 offices around the country. Concurrent continues to be the fastest-growing advisor organization within Raymond James Financial Services.
