Concord Medical Receives Singapore MOH Approval of New Name and Operation of Concord Cancer Hospital
BEIJING, Oct. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Concord Medical Services Holdings Limited ("Concord Medical" or the "Company") (NYSE: CCM), a leading specialty hospital management solution provider and operator of the largest network of radiotherapy and diagnostic imaging centers in China, today announced the Company has received approval from the Singapore Ministry of Health to change the name of the Fortis Surgical Hospital, which was acquired by the Company in April, to Concord Cancer Hospital. Concord Cancer Hospital in Singapore will provide oncology as its main services, including medical oncology and surgical oncology. Concord Cancer Hospital will offer a number of treatment options for patients including cancer screening, diagnosis, cancer prevention services, chemotherapy and post-chemotherapy follow up, and palliative care for end stage cancer. Using Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System, the hospital also provides minimal invasive surgery on patients with colorectal cancer, urology, gynaecology and other cancer sites.
The company plans to establish a close partnership with MD Anderson in the operation of Concord Cancer Hospital. According to the Clinical and Quality Management Program Development Agreement signed between the company and University of Taxes MD Anderson Cancer Center on April 1, 2015, MD Anderson will assist and support Concord Cancer Hospital to develop and implement the clinical quality and patient safety processes necessary for the hospital to qualify for the Associate Member Program of MD Anderson.
Currently, the Company is undergoing necessary equipment and internal refurbishment in order to offer high-quality services to patients in Asian area, who will receive MDACC-standard treatment and services in the state-of-the-art facility.
