DETROIT, Sept. 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- ConcertoHealth, the leading provider of specialized primary care and supporting clinical services for frail and elderly patients, announced the appointment of Ernest L. Yoder, M.D., Ph.D., M.A.C.P., to the regional medical director for the state of Michigan.
Dr. Yoder will provide clinical oversight for all four Detroit-area ConcertoHealth Care Centers and clinical teams. In addition, Dr. Yoder will direct the multidisciplinary care teams that are central to the ConcertoHealth Primary Care Support Platform, which provides health plans and their primary care provider networks with on-the-ground clinical support for their most vulnerable patients.

Dr. Yoder most recently served as associate dean of educational affairs, chair of the Department of Medical Education and associate dean for graduate medical education at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. Previously, he was founding dean of the Central Michigan University (CMU) College of Medicine, where he also served as chair of the CMU Medical Education Partners board of directors. Dr. Yoder also held several faculty positions at Oakland University in Rochester, Mich., and Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Mich. Prior to his career in education, he was an internal medicine physician at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital.
Among his many accolades, Dr. Yoder received Outstanding Clinical Faculty and Staff awards from Wayne State University, The Best Doctors in America designation from Detroit Hour Magazine and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American College of Physicians. He also is a reviewer for the Journal of Graduate Medical Education and for Medical Education Online, is Green Belt Certified and is working toward his Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma.
A lifelong Michigander, Dr. Yoder holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Alma College in Alma, Mich., and a Ph.D. in education from Wayne State University, where he also earned an M.D. degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine.
Dr. Yoder is supported by Dr. Bobby Lee, who in a new role as senior physician for the ConcertoHealth Detroit market, will continue to deliver personalized, compassionate care to ConcertoHealth patients.
