Concentra Expands Presence in Multiple U.S. Markets
More Locations Making Health Care Convenient and Affordable
DALLAS, May 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Concentra, a subsidiary of Humana Inc., is expanding its presence in several key markets across the country as part of the company's commitment to improve access to quality, convenient medical care and meet increased demand for affordable health care services.
In recent months, Concentra has added centers in markets including San Francisco, CA; Chicago, IL; Northern New Jersey; Albany, NY; Burlington, VT.; Providence, RI; and Portland, OR. This growth has resulted in the addition of quality staff, convenient locations and extended hours of operation to care for patients' medical needs, making health care more accessible and affordable.
"We are excited to bring our proven medical model and outstanding patient experience to more communities, and expand the services of existing health care organizations by bringing them into the Concentra family," said Jim Greenwood, Concentra chief executive officer. "As our footprint continues to grow, we are pleased to create new entries into the health care system, while providing exemplary health care experiences for all patients, in every location."
Strategic relocations of existing facilities and the opening of new centers are also helping the company improve its reach in both business and residential settings. In the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, for instance, Concentra relocated two of its centers to larger facilities, with several more relocations planned by the end of the year. In Austin, Texas, the company recently opened a new center, providing an additional resource for urgent care, and will relocate an existing center this summer.
"Concentra is proud to provide health and wellness services to working Americans and seeks to improve the health of the nation, one patient at a time. By adding medical centers and worksite locations, and expanding the delivery of services, Concentra is creating an accessible and welcoming experience that meets the needs of busy patients, without sacrificing personal service and quality of care," Greenwood added.
Humana's Chief Strategy and Corporate Development Officer Paul Kusserow believes Concentra will grow rapidly – in line with the growing need for the kinds of affordable and convenient services Concentra provides.
"Humana and Concentra are joining with doctors and other medical professionals to manage and share responsibility for the health of patient populations," Kusserow said. "We see an opportunity to build networks with Concentra and to expand the company's geographic reach. Humana is committed to investing in Concentra's growth and, as a result, more effectively serving our current and future customers."
Concentra has aligned its development strategy to support the growth opportunities and needs of each market it serves. As a leader in health care services, Concentra intends to raise the standard of health by putting individuals first, treating them with clinical excellence, and focusing on their ongoing wellness. Through its worksite facilities and urgent care centers, Concentra offers employers and patients a health care model that incorporates a positive patient experience with proven medical treatment, rapidly becoming the new standard in patient care.
