FRIDLEY, Minn., June 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
WHAT:
While the number of fatalities on Minnesota's roads has decreased incrementally over the past four years, one loss of life is one too many. The Minnesota Trucking Association (MTA) is actively working to further reduce the number of traffic-related deaths in the state. |
The MTA will host its annual search for the "safest" truck driver in the state by holding their annual Truck Driving Championships. The competition puts drivers in everyday situations like backing up to a loading dock and parallel parking a tractor-trailer. They will also be scored on their knowledge of the rules of the road. |
This free event is an opportunity for members of the motoring public to see professional drivers in action, exhibiting the skills necessary to safely operate a tractor-trailer. |
