This appointment is another significant step in COMS effort to increase the depth and usability of its industry-leading clinical decision support software, Daylight IQ®. Dr. Mittal will work with the company's clinical team and physician/nursing advisory boards to extend the clinical intelligence and application systems within Daylight IQ. Daylight IQ is already in use in a number of assisted living facilities across the country, and Dr. Mittal's expertise will be critical in extending COMS' reach in assisted living. He will also provide his expertise to present on the topics of disease care management and other relevant areas.
The Daylight IQ product suite covers 37 disease categories or afflictions, representing 85 chronic diseases typically seen in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. These categories are supported with clinical care guides that help to define processes provided at the time of care to the nursing staff in order to manage and improve outcomes. Physicians can connect to the system remotely for reviewing resident profiles and modifying care plans.

Dr. Mittal graduated from medical school from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, completed his training in Denver, Colorado and is a Board Certified Internist. After spending 6 years in the Army, where he was recognized with the Surgeon General's Award, he spent 10 years with the Mayo Health System and was a Clinical Instructor for the Mayo Medical School.
