CompWest Insurance Company Puts Care Model to Work During IICF Volunteer Week
SANTA ANA, Calif., Nov. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CompWest Insurance Company has once again joined together with thousands of insurance professionals during the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation's (IICF) volunteer week event.
It was a statewide effort for the insurance carrier which operates under a Workers' Compensation with Care® model. CompWest employees in Northern California banded together to help out at a local food bank. In one day employees boxed 400 pounds of wheat bran flakes and 250 pounds of brown rice. In Southern California, employees rallied together, alongside a UC Irvine sorority, to put together a Halloween party for the children from a nearby YMCA. CompWest employees cooked a barbeque lunch, decorated for a kid friendly haunted house, helped with arts and craft projects, and set up games for the children to enjoy.
A good time was had by all as CompWest employees had an opportunity to give back. IICF gives the insurance community a chance to volunteer in a number of different states. In 2011, Volunteer Week projects are being held in California, Colorado, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut through the IICF's Western and New York/Northeast divisions. The newly formed IICF Midwest division is leading volunteer projects in the Chicago area and Kansas City.
