Compusearch to Supply and Implement PRISM as WMATA's New Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) System
One system for managing WMATA's contracts from acquisition planning to contract close-out
DULLES, Va., April 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Compusearch® is pleased to announce it has been awarded the prime contract to implement its PRISM™ solution as the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority's (WMATA) new Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) System. The value of the award is $4,023,795.
Compusearch will replace WMATA's manual procurement system with a proven web-based COTS solution. The new CLM, which will be interoperable with WMATA's PeopleSoft-based financial management system, will deliver better customer services, support improved visibility, transparency, and control over WMATA's resources, enhance management reporting, and optimize the productivity and performance of the Authority's acquisition workforce and other users of the integrated CLM system.
"Our winning proposal combines the most widely used acquisition management system, PRISM, with the deep procurement modernization capability of Compusearch professionals and the knowledge of WMATA's existing business systems brought by our teaming partner Comter Systems, Inc.," said Compusearch CEO Reid Jackson. "Compusearch has a 30-year history providing COTS acquisition software and systems integration services to help public sector procurement organizations implement, operate and maintain end-to-end contract writing and contract management solutions."
Within a capital improvement project called Metro Forward, WMATA is investing $5B in more than a hundred projects, e.g. new rail cars and buses, escalator overhauls, state-of-the-art technology, and new track. Much of this funding has been made available through stakeholders in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia and the Federal Government, namely the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). With so much contracting activity underway and planned WMATA's strategic objective is to be more efficient and effective in sourcing and contract management. More recently still WMATA outlined a strategic plan, dubbed Momentum, which calls for $26B in capital improvements over the next three decades.
"We are honored to have the opportunity to field an innovative, user-centric system that helps WMATA's procurement professionals do more with less," said Compusearch CTO Brock Lending. "We look forward to partnering with WMATA and deploying a CLM accomplishing the goal of being the single enterprise-wide system for managing the Authority's sourcing and contracting activities from acquisition planning all the way through to contract close-out."
