What: The panel will discuss how to drive efficiency through cost-savings across the Department of Defense in regards to Under Secretary Ashton Carter's $100 billion cost cutting initiative and President Obama's National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform. The panel will also explore acquisition for large IT systems and the challenges presented due to rapid advances in technology; current cost constraints and OMB mandates; and acquisition processes for technology versus large-scale weapons systems. In addition, the panel will also address the American public's demand for greater transparency on how their tax dollars are being spent and the looming workforce crisis in the acquisition community due to the retirement of the baby boomer generation.
