Compusearch supports Federal Shared Service Providers
PRISM™ is delivering the benefits of integrated acquisition modernization
DULLES, Va., July 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Compusearch® is pleased to welcome the USDA's National Finance Center to the ranks of the OMB-designated Federal Shared Services Providers (FSSPs). The National Finance Center also uses Compusearch's PRISM™ as the acquisition management system within its integrated business management solution which provides core accounting and procurement services.
Transportation's Enterprise Services Center (ESC), Treasury's Administrative Resource Center (ARC) and Interior's Interior Business Center (IBC) have all been reconfirmed as OMB-designated FSSPs for Financial Management. All three serve clients who use Compusearch's PRISM™ for procurement management.
These shared services designations support the implementation of OMB's March 2013 Memorandum (M-13-08 "Improving Financial Systems through Shared Services") which directs Federal agencies to move to an FSSP for financial management services. Within the President's Management Agenda the Administration is pursuing increased standardization and cost-savings in the way government internally delivers core administrative functions. Following the migration of financial management to an FSSP, agencies will be able to focus more leadership attention and resources on mission-based programs.
Compusearch has long realized the value of integration as it is essential to the consistency of procurement documents and their associated financial actions. PRISM's™ multi-tier architecture supports all types of data exchange from legacy flat files to today's Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). The existing Web Service Descriptive Language (WSDL) library and Application Program Interfaces (APIs) turn interfacing into a business process discussion and away from being a major technical hurdle.
"PRISM™ has been architected to support open, flexible and modern integration, including interfacing at the site level and not just the system or instance level," said Compusearch CEO Reid Jackson. "For example, ESC provides a web services interface for its clients while the ARC's single shared PRISM instance incorporates a real-time interface to its financial management system and serves 37 agency clients."
