Compusearch Selected to Modernize CMS' Acquisition Environment
Paperless system will increase HHS Centers' efficiency and accountability
DULLES, Va., Nov. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Compusearch is pleased to announce it has been awarded a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) and has received a Task Order to supply and implement the Department of Health and Human Services' Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Comprehensive Acquisition Management System (CAMS) for a base period of two years at $2.6 million with eight one-year options for operation and maintenance.
"We look forward to helping CMS expand their use of PRISM from just contract writing to the entire acquisition process from planning to requisitioning to invoicing to close out," said Compusearch CEO Reid Jackson. "Compusearch has a 28-year history providing COTS acquisition software and systems integration services to help agencies implement, operate and maintain end-to-end procurement solutions. Compusearch's PRISM-Procurement is used by more Federal Civilian agencies than all other acquisition management systems combined."
Compusearch was selected to facilitate the implementation of a paperless acquisition management process and system. Compusearch's professional services team will be working on-site at CMS' Baltimore facility to help realize the vision of CAMS. The solution will include a series of initial test pilots followed by full scale implementation of PRISM nationwide to approximately 2,000 CMS users.
"We are honored to have the opportunity to transition CMS to a modern, paperless acquisition system. This organization-wide best practice will increase their efficiency and productivity," said Compusearch CTO Brock Lending. "When acquisition professionals have the tools they need to be effective, it increases their ability to meet agency missions and provide accurate and accountable information to agency executives, the Administration, Congress, and the American Public. We look forward to helping CMS meet these goals."
