CompTIA Strengthens Global Marketing and Communications Capabilities with Hiring of Ann Batko
Named new senior vice president for marketing and communications at leading IT industry association
DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., Feb. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- CompTIA, the leading trade association for the world's information technology (IT) industry, today announced the appointment of Ann Batko as its new senior vice president for marketing and communications.

Batko is responsible for the 2,000-plus member organization's global marketing strategy as well as its marketing and corporate communications functions, including advertising, branding, social media and corporate communications.

Before joining CompTIA, Batko was senior director of communications and brand management for CDW, a leading IT solutions provider for business, government, education and healthcare. At CDW, she was responsible for corporate brand planning, advertising, events, public relations, editorial content and internal communications.
Earlier in her career, she was the senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications at Rand McNally & Co., where she also served as the company's executive editor and creative director.
Batko spent the first 15 years of her career in the advertising industry, working at Los Angeles and Chicago agencies on consumer packaged goods and retail accounts, including Procter & Gamble and Kraft Foods. Her most recent agency role was as senior vice president and general manager of the branding practice at FCB Chicago.
A lover of good writing and good grammar, Batko is the author of the book When Bad Grammar Happens to Good People: How to Avoid Common Errors in English.
She holds a BA summa cum laude in the Integral Curriculum of the Liberal Arts from Saint Mary's College of California.
