DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., April 13, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- CompTIA, the nonprofit association for the technology industry, said today it has been recognized as among Chicagoland's best places to work for women over age 35.
The latest honor comes from Crain's Chicago Business, a leading source for news and information about doing business in Chicago. CompTIA is one of five employers in the Chicago metropolitan market singled out as a Best Place to Work for Women over 35.
In addition to the recognition from Crain's, CompTIA has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Illinois for five consecutive years by the Business Ledger, a leading provider of business news and information about businesses and the economy in suburban Chicago.
Last November CompTIA received a 2015 Top Workplaces honor from the Chicago Tribune.
Companies that top the Crain's best places to work list are characterized by workplace practices and policies that are attractive to women and men, according to the publication. These include clearly defined paths to management positions; flexible and generous benefits; and a willingness to consider all voices and opinions.
Each of these traits – and others – contribute to positive workplace at CompTIA, according to team members.

"Working with smart, dedicated, supportive coworkers, and knowing that the work I do every day is helping people find jobs, advance in their careers, and grow their businesses, is the best part of being here." – Ann Batko, senior vice president, marketing
"I'm fortunate to have worked at CompTIA for 15 years and have enjoyed so many great benefits. One of the best, though, is my job affords us to have my husband be a stay at home dad with our two young kids. I'm also grateful for my colleagues who make it such a fun and inspiring best place to work every day." – Amy Carrado, senior director, research and market intelligence
"There are many things that I love about CompTIA; work from home days; flexible work schedules; excellent health care options; a very comfortable and modern work space; a matching gift program for charitable donations; and organization-wide volunteer opportunities are just a few examples." – Jennifer Case, senior director, business systems
