HOLLYWOOD, Fla., Aug. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- CompTIA ChannelCon, the information technology (IT) channel's premier education and partnering event, opened here Monday with a focus on business improvement strategies and a look at new and innovative products and services making their marks in the technology marketplace.
More than 150 technology vendors, distributors and solution providers are participating in the ChannelCon Technology Vendor Fair, launching and showcasing innovative channel-focused products, solutions and tools. Visit the Channel Virtual Press Office to views some of the headlines.
The fair and the conference continue through Wednesday, August 3.
Community Day highlighted the Monday agenda at ChannelCon, with seven member communities holding learning and networking sessions.
"The community meetings are an important part of ChannelCon's educational programming," said Kelly Ricker, senior vice president, events and education, CompTIA. "IT solution providers, vendors, distributors, consultants and thought leaders come together to discuss the issues, trends and opportunities facing the industry and the customers they serve."
The CompTIA Managed Services Community pulled back the curtain Monday to reveal some of the nuggets of information IT channel professionals reserve for their closest industry friends. These best practice "hallway conversations" include the things learned from their own business's trials and tribulations that, when shared, can help other solution providers avoid making the same potentially costly mistakes and improve their chances of success.
Also Monday, the CompTIA Advisory Council on Policy held its inaugural meeting and began its work as a voice of the IT channel on legislative and policy matters. The council includes appointed volunteers from member companies across the IT channel committed to being engaged in and making a contribution to the discussion of policy and its impacts on the IT industry.
CompTIA ChannelCon continues today with a full day of keynote speeches, panel discussions and educational programming, including the ChannelCon Vendor Summit. An exclusive offering for conference attendees, the summit will feature insights and opinions from executives with some of the industry's most influential vendors and distributors.
Also beginning today is Track4Techs, a ChannelCon-exclusive program created specifically for the IT pro community to keep them informed about the innovations and trends that will impact their careers.
