DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., March 17, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- New research on how well technology solution providers companies are positioned to provide security products and services to their customers will be previewed at the CompTIA Annual Member Meeting in Chicago this month, CompTIA, the technology industry trade association announced today.
Data from the upcoming study Security in the IT Channel will be presented at a meeting of the CompTIA IT Security Community during the association's Annual Member Meeting March 22-24 at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park Hotel.
"As companies become more digital and data-reliant, they're taking a more proactive stance with their security," said Seth Robinson, senior director, technology analysis, CompTIA. "This change has created new opportunities for technology solution providers.
"But while many providers claim to offer a robust security portfolio, our research suggests that there may be additional steps to take," Robinson continued. "Rather than simply offering customers a menu of security products, channel companies need to turn their focus to higher-level services that deliver comprehensive security monitoring and response."
Robinson will discuss the Security in the IT Channel report during the CompTIA IT Security Community meeting on Wednesday morning March 23.
The research presentation will be accompanied by a panel discussion – "Security Beyond Technology Spending" – which will examine how solution providers can help customers curb risks while keeping costs in check.
Scheduled speakers include Doug Erickson, vice president, worldwide partner sales, Pulse Secure, a leading provider of secure access and mobile security solutions; Mark Sollazo, president, CEO and co-founder of SynerComm, Inc., a provider of enterprise Wi-Fi, secure access, remote desktop, mobile device management and other services; and Erin Jacobs, founding partner, Urbane Security, an information security firm that provides specially tailored security and compliance solutions.
CompTIA's Annual Member Meeting brings together hundreds of top executives from all corners of the IT industry for collaborative strategic planning, education and networking. The gathering provides a neutral forum where industry leaders discuss the hottest topics and biggest issues affecting the IT channel and develop actionable initiatives to help advance the industry.
