"Microsoft is pleased that ComponentOne has shown support for Silverlight and the next-generation application development platform, and is today simultaneously announcing ComponentOne Studio for Silverlight," said Brian Goldfarb, director of the developer platform group at Microsoft Corp. "Products like ComponentOne Studio for Silverlight help developers use their existing skills to create unique experiences that run across many and varied devices."
With the release of Silverlight 4, features like printing, clipboard accessibility, and even simple things such as right-clicking the mouse, are handed to the developer right out of the box. Silverlight 4 opens new possibilities for the developer and ComponentOne builds upon it to help developers deliver the next generation of Silverlight applications on-time and on-budget.
The 2010 release of ComponentOne's Silverlight controls adds native printing support to the rich text editor, C1RichTextBox, as well as enhanced theming and text input across all controls to take advantage of the new features available in Silverlight 4. "The main focus of this release is the debut of the fastest and most complete Silverlight data grid on the market, ComponentOne DataGrid," said Greg Lutz, product manager at ComponentOne.
The enhanced grid control now offers the widest feature set and is quick with responsive loading and scroll experiences for large datasets. In addition to this major update, there are enhancements to other popular controls including RichTextBox, TreeView, Book, and more. This release version is compatible with Silverlight 3 and Silverlight 4.
"When it comes to application development, the aim of ComponentOne is always business, business, business, but we even take it a step beyond business basics with 'flashy' components like the CoverFlow, our original Book control, and various imaging tools to satisfy the whole gamut of Silverlight adventurers out there," said Lutz.
