On May 15, 2014, NCR Corporation (NCR) announced that Tesco is collaborating with NCR to improve the customer checkout experience by piloting a new, high-speed retail checkout solution. According to NCR, each unit allows three shoppers to pack and pay simultaneously, with the help of modern imaging technology to scan products placed on a conveyor belt automatically. This innovative checkout experience reduces waiting time, allows customers to get out of the store more quickly by increasing the rate at which items are scanned, packed and paid. Entergy Corporation Analyst Notes
On May 15, 2014, Entergy Corporation (Entergy) announced that Entergy Louisiana, LLC has signed a 10-year commercial and contractual agreement with PennTex North Louisiana, LLC to supply up to 25 megawatts to PennTex's Lincoln Parish plant near Arcadia, Louisiana, starting March 2015. PennTex, in March 2014, announced plans to construct a natural gas processing plant at a new site in Lincoln Parish. Commenting on the development, Phillip R. May, President and CEO, Entergy's Louisiana Utility Companies, said, "Over the past several years in particular, Entergy has been working more closely than ever with public and private partners and key companies like PennTex to custom-fit electric power solutions to business and industry needs. PPL Corporation Analyst Notes
On May 14, 2014, PPL Corporation (PPL) issued a press release stating that Western Power Distribution (WPD) - the electricity distributor for the Herefordshire region, will invest in its network so as to improve the supply reliability and customer service levels. The Company stated that the investment, which is a part of the £11 million initiative to boost power supplies in Herefordshire, is also designed to meet the increased power demands in Hereford city. The work includes construction of a new substation in the city, the upgrading of equipment in a major substation near Dormington and the laying of 9 km of 66,000 volt new cable between them.
