Compass Point Research & Trading, LLC Hires Head of Capital Markets and Expands Research and Sales Teams

WASHINGTON, June 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Compass Point Research & Trading, LLC ("Compass Point") today announced that it has hired Thomas Sheedy as Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets and expanded its Research and Sales teams to include Senior Vice President Adam Shifrin in Sales and Vice Presidents Isaac Boltansky and Amy DeBone in Research.

Mr. Sheedy, Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets, will be coordinating Compass Point's Research, Sales and Investment Banking divisions.  He joins the firm from Pritchard Capital Partners, LLC where he was Managing Director of Institutional Sales in Washington, D.C.  Prior to Pritchard Capital, Mr. Sheedy was based in San Francisco where he was a Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets at First Albany Companies, Inc., and before that, Managing Director and Head of Sales at Robertson Stephens, Inc.  He received his B.E. from Vanderbilt University and M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University.

Mr. Shifrin, Senior Vice President, will be joining Compass Point's Sales team.  Previously, he worked at Needham & Company, LLC, where he was a Vice President in Sales.  Prior to that, Mr. Shifrin was a Regional Financial Advisor at BestVest Investments, Ltd.  Mr. Shifrin received his B.A. and M.A. from Temple University.

Mr. Boltansky, Vice President, will be joining Compass Point's Research team.  Mr. Boltansky will focus his efforts on Washington Policy and the resulting impact on financial services companies with a particular focus on Dodd-Frank implementation, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, for-profit education and tax policy.  He joins the firm from the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) Congressional Oversight Panel, where he was a Research Analyst.  While at the TARP Congressional Oversight Panel, Mr. Boltansky focused on the largest TARP recipients as well as broader economic issues such as bank lending and commercial real estate.  He was also responsible for staff level relationships with government agencies including the Treasury, Federal Reserve and FDIC.  Prior to that, he worked as an Analyst at EJF Capital, LLC.  Mr. Boltansky earned his B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University. 

Ms. DeBone, Vice President, also joins Compass Point's Research team and will be focusing on consumer finance.  She joins Compass Point from FBR Capital Markets Corporation, where she served as a Senior Research Associate focusing on large-cap and mid-cap broker-dealers, mortgage insurers and specialty finance.  Ms. DeBone received her B.B.A. from James Madison University.
