Company Issues Clarification: State Industries Inc. Not Sold

MILWAUKEE, Nov. 19, 2010 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- A. O. Smith Corporation (NYSE: AOS) issued a clarification today that its State Industries Inc. water heater business has not been sold.  

This is in response to an erroneous report issued by an online news service, FactSet MergerStat, that incorrectly reported earlier today the assets of the unit had been acquired by Renwood Opportunities Fund.  

Instead, Renwood reported it had acquired the assets of States Industries Inc. of Eugene, Ore., a designer and manufacturer of wood panels and components used in furniture, store fixtures, and architectural interiors.
