Community Invited to Fall Shoot at Hillsdale College's Halter Shooting Sports Education Center

HILLSDALE, Mich., Sept. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Responding to growing demand, Hillsdale will host its annual Fall Shoot on Saturday, Sept., 10, at Hillsdale's Searle Center and John Anthony Halter Shooting Sports Education Center.

"This fall shoot is a full morning and afternoon of learning about our U.S. Constitution, our Second Amendment rights, and firearms safety and use," said Bart Spieth, range master for the College's shooting sports education center. "Participants will have access to our nationally recognized clay target, archery, and pistol ranges. It will be an informative and enjoyable day."

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. the day of the event, followed by a discussion on the second amendment led by Dr. David Raney, Hillsdale College history professor. There will be an introductory course on firearms safety before participants travel to the shooting sports education center, a 112-acre, state-of-the-art shooting facility located off campus. Ammunition, firearms, and safety gear will be supplied. Continental breakfast, a barbecue luncheon, and door prizes are also included.

Admission to the Fall Shoot is $50 per person. Shooting range participants must be at least 18 years old, and all experience levels are welcome.
