Community Health Accreditation Partner (CHAP) Announces President and CEO
WASHINGTON, Dec. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The CHAP Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Barbara McCann as the CEO and President of CHAP Inc. Ms. McCann has served as Interim President and CEO since July 2017.
"We are excited to have Barbara assume the position of CEO and President of CHAP. Her national experience in quality management combined with her vision and integrity make her the perfect leader to take CHAP forward," stated Maureen Spivack, Chairperson of the Board.
Ms. McCann's experience spans executive roles with national home care providers over the past two decades. Ms. McCann comes to CHAP from Interim Health where she served as the Chief Clinical Officer until the last five years where she has been the Chief Industry Officer in Washington DC. Her career includes serving in a variety of capacities with national organizations supporting the definition of quality care in the home and community, as well the development of measures to publicly demonstrate the value of this care.
Barbara began her career as a medical social worker making home visits to home health and hospice patients. She is Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of California at Berkeley.

Founded in 1965, CHAP was first to recognize the need for and value of home and community-based care standards and accreditation. As a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)–approved accrediting organization, CHAP surveys organizations providing home health, hospice, and home medical equipment services to establish if Medicare Conditions of Participation and DMEPOS Quality Standard are met and recommend certification to CMS.CHAP's purpose is to partner with organization nationwide to advance quality in the delivery of care and services in the home and community..
