Community Financial Credit Union Holds Several Activities to Celebrate Youth Week April 20-25
PLYMOUTH, Mich., April 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Area youth will have the opportunity to participate in a number of activities sponsored by Community Financial Credit Union during Credit Union Youth Week happening April 20-25.
Youth and student members that visit a Community Financial branch during the week will get coloring sheets and extra punches on their punch cards. Students may also enter to win a Family Membership to the Detroit Zoological Society.
The theme for these activities is "Wild about Savings," which is designed to help children and teens of all ages become more educated about the benefits of saving and managing money.
"We are excited to host Credit Union Youth Week at our branches," said Natalie McLaughlin, Senior Education Partnership Coordinator. "This week highlights the importance of teaching children how to manage their money at an early age."
Community Financial is also partnering with the Michigan Credit Union Foundation and the Novi and Plymouth public libraries to donate books and hold activities and contests during April.
The Plymouth District Library will host a Kids' Philanthropy Fair on April 18 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Children are able to make a display promoting their favorite charity. The display that gets the most votes will win $100 to give to their chosen charity.
The Novi Public Library will host a specialized story time on April 25 at 10:30 a.m., where children can receive "money shreds" from the Detroit Federal Reserve.
Community Financial's Credit Union Youth Week is being held in conjunction with National Credit Union Youth Month™ and the Federal Reserve's "Money Smart Week."
