Community Choice Financial Supports American Heart Association With Landmark Donation
National fundraising campaign results in largest single fundraiser in Cleveland American Heart Association history.
DUBLIN, Ohio, April 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Community Choice Financial is supporting the work of the American Heart Association in Cleveland at a level that will impact many individuals and families that are battling heart disease. The company collected donations at their 433 locations totaling $135,430 by asking customers and employees to purchase a red heart to support the work of the American Heart Association. CCFI donated an additional $10,000 to the drive, bringing the total donation to $145,430. The check was presented to the Cleveland Chapter of the American Heart Association, and is the largest single fundraising donation ever received by the Cleveland office.
Community Choice Financial Inc, and Joe Weir, a district manager of CCFI, implemented the fundraising program in all of their 433 locations. During the month of February, CCFI customers were asked to purchase a heart in support of the American Heart Association. The donations collected will enable the American Heart Association to fund lifesaving research and programs that help people live longer and healthier lives.
"The relationship between the American Heart Association and the Community Choice family of companies is a natural," said Kyle Hanson, President of Community Choice Financial. "Over and over I am amazed and humbled by the hearts of each of our associates. They have great hearts and the American Heart Association wants to promote healthy hearts, so it was a perfect fit."
"I am humbled by the true generosity of our customers," adds Joe Weir. "During these tough economic times to dig as deep as they did to me is really something special. The money donated will have a profound impact on education and live saving research for the area. I am proud to have spearheaded this campaign for my great company CCFI. I couldn't be prouder of my teams' results raising the highest one-time donation in the Cleveland area for the AHA!"
In 2011, 37 CheckSmart locations, a division of CCFI, participated in a fundraiser for the American Heart Association and raised over $12,000 in one month to help fight cardiovascular diseases and stroke – America's #1 and #4 causes of death. The 2012 fundraising campaign took participation by CCFI locations to the next level by including all locations.
"I am proud to be a part of a team which generated a landmark donation to the Cleveland American Heart Association," said American Heart Association volunteer, Jennifer Judd of Eastlake, Ohio. "When CCFI decided to partner up with the AHA to fight heart disease I was ecstatic due to the fact that I am a two-time open heart survivor. The donation will help make a difference in the lives of many people who have heart disease and their families. This donation will help fund research for the future."
