FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., Oct. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Community Capital Management, Inc. (CCM), a leading fixed income impact investing manager, is excited to announce that Andy Kaufman has joined the firm as a senior portfolio manager. Mr. Kaufman is a fixed income specialist who has spent the majority of his career managing securitized debt portfolios.
Mr. Kaufman began his career at BlackRock Financial Management in New York City where he spent ten years as a fixed income analyst and portfolio manager. He joined BlackRock in the Portfolio Risk and Quantitative Analysis Group as an alternative investment portfolio analyst and quickly advanced to the Portfolio Management Group where he was ultimately responsible for managing $200 billion in separate account portfolios. Prior to joining CCM, Mr. Kaufman was a portfolio manager at Mercantil Commercebank in Miami where he was solely responsible for the bank's MBS and CMBS portfolio totaling $1.75 billion.
At CCM, Mr. Kaufman will join the investment team managing the firm's ESG/impact investing fixed income strategy. He will primarily be responsible for security selection, tactical fixed income asset allocation and yield curve positioning. He will work with the portfolio managers in cash flow modeling, scenario analysis and return forecasts. He will report to Todd Cohen, chief executive officer and chief investment officer, and a founder of the firm.
"Andy has a wealth of experience in fixed income and we are delighted to be able to add his capabilities to our growing ESG/impact investing strategy," said Alyssa Greenspan, president and chief operating officer of CCM. "Having known him as a shareholder in the CRA Qualified Investment Fund (CRA Shares) on behalf of Mercantil and with his experiences at BlackRock and Mercantil, he is a perfect complement to our investment team."
Mr. Kaufman adds, "I'm delighted to join CCM after working with the organization as a bank shareholder. I respect their disciplined risk management approach and deep focus on fixed income impact investments and look forward to helping them continue their expansion into the foundation, family office and faith-based community. I am excited to bring my securitization and portfolio management expertise as an integral part of the investment team."
