NEW YORK, April 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Light Reading (www.lightreading.com), the market-leading online community for the global communications sector, today announced that Axel Clauberg, Vice President, IP Architecture & Design, Deutsche Telekom, will keynote the Big Telecom Event (BTE) (www.bigtelecomevent.com/chicago/). BTE, to be held June 17-18 at the Sheraton Hotel in Chicago, is a demo space and conference that brings real-world, cutting-edge technology demonstrations and business insights to communications service provider executives.
Clauberg, one of the leading network executives at European telecom operator Deutsche Telekom, is the driving force behind his company's next-generation communications network architecture, known as TeraStream. That network is being developed using the same kinds of technologies – software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV) – that companies such as Google, Amazon, and AT&T are planning to use (or in some cases are already using) to deliver better and faster services to all types of customers. Clauberg is regarded by his peers as one of the thought leaders driving the development of these new communications networks. Joining with other thought leaders in Chicago, he is eager to share his views and swap ideas with peers at BTE.
"I've heard Axel speak on a number of occasions during the past few years as new networking concepts, such as SDN and NFV, have become hot topics in the telecom and enterprise networking sectors. He's a real character, a great communicator, and always able to articulate his vision very clearly. As a result, his presentations always create a buzz. He's a 'must see' in networking circles," says Ray Le Maistre, Editor-in-Chief at Light Reading.
BTE combines the educational power of interactive conference sessions devised and hosted by Heavy Reading's experienced industry analysts, with multi-vendor interoperability and proof-of-concept networking and application showcases. BTE is geared toward helping attendees better understand the business rationale for concepts such as SDN, NFV, small-cell architectures, next-generation policy and charging, big-data analytics, and mobile network security.
BTE sponsors include: ADVA, Alcatel-Lucent, Champion ONE, Ciena, Cisco, Cyan, Fujitsu, Infinera, MRV, SpiderCloud, Support.com, and Symantec.
