Commonwealth Seeks Qualified Contractors for Small Construction Projects in Eastern, Central, Western Regions

HARRISBURG, Pa., April 14, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Department of General Services is seeking qualified contractors interested in providing general contractor, HVAC (mechanical), electric and plumbing services in relation to small construction projects to occur on a regional level.

The department has issued three Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for Job Order Contracting, or JOC, services. One RFP has been issued in each region – Eastern, Central and Western – for small projects with a value of $300,000.000 or less.

Each RFP will have a prime contractor component for general contractor, HVAC (mechanical), electric and plumbing services. Based on the expected volume of projects that will occur in each region, the use of small diverse and small business subcontractors, design professionals, and suppliers is strongly encouraged and will factor in the award of the RFP's subsequent contracts.

Any businesses interested in providing services to the commonwealth as a prime contractor under the JOC RFP must attend any one of three scheduled pre-proposal meetings that are scheduled to take place on April 18^th in Harrisburg, April 19^th in Allentown and April 20^th in Pittsburgh. Businesses looking to provide services as a subcontractor, design professional or supplier are encouraged to attend to introduce your company and to provide a very brief summary of the goods or services you can provide.

Job Order Contracting solicitations for the Eastern, Central and Western regions can be viewed online.  The deadline to submit a proposal for these RFPs is Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.
