Commissioner Doak Pledges to Continue Educating and Protecting Oklahomans During Second Term
OKLAHOMA CITY, Jan. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John D. Doak has been sworn into office for his second term by Oklahoma Supreme Court Chief Justice John Reif. Today's inauguration ceremony marked a continued effort to serve and protect Oklahoma citizens for the next four years for Doak.
"I am humbled and honored that voters in our state are allowing me to serve another term," said Doak. "Oklahomans spoke loud and clear when they choose to re-elect me to office with more than 77 percent of the vote. I'm very thankful." Doak also pledged to continue to raise public awareness of important issues to consumers through education and community outreach.
During the next four years, Doak plans to spend more time with local law enforcement agencies to strengthen our state's uninsured motorist law. Doak will also emphasize his undertaking of protecting vulnerable senior citizens from falling victim to insurance fraud.
Doak will also make stops in all 77-counties each year as part of his continued commitment to all Oklahomans, in what he describes as a common sense approach to serving the people of Oklahoma.
"The Oklahoma Insurance Department represents everyone in this state, not just those who live in major metro areas," said Doak. "I value the opportunity to meet with different citizens, local business owners, and area leaders. I look forward to four more years of serving the people of our great state, and I am proud to continue serving with the great staff at the Department who make each of our initiatives a success."
Bringing new private sector jobs into Oklahoma, increasing capital resources and making sure Oklahoma is disaster ready are also top priorities for the Oklahoma Insurance Department for 2015.
