Commissioner Doak Applauds Oklahoma's Win Challenging ACA Implementation
OKLAHOMA CITY, Sept. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John D. Doak released the following statement about the ruling announced today deciding the state's lawsuit on the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Oklahoma was the first state to challenge the legality of an IRS rule that resulted in the payout of billions of dollars in illegal subsidies.
"Today's ruling from Judge White in the Eastern District is a big victory for General Pruitt, Oklahoma and our country as it further affirms our belief in the rule of law," said Doak. "The courts have found out exactly what's in the law and are ensuring that the administration follows the law as it was passed by Congress. Thanks to General Pruitt's leadership in upholding the rule of law, we are one step closer to ensuring the Obamacare shipwreck impacts as few Oklahomans as possible. We are thankful to have an Attorney General who stands on his convictions against the federal overreach into our state affairs."
