Commercial Real Estate Leader Colliers International To Open Cleveland Office
30-year Industry Veteran Brian Hurtuk Will Head Cleveland Operations
CLEVELAND, July 10, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The newest Colliers International office to join the State of Ohio will open in Cleveland under the leadership of Brian Hurtuk, a commercial real estate industry veteran with 30 years of experience. Hurtuk is a longtime office leasing and sales specialist, and will spearhead Cleveland operations as managing director.
"In May of 2010 we reestablished our Ohio platform with the opening of offices in Cincinnati and Columbus," said Tom Murray, Regional Managing Director for the Central Region of Colliers International in the U.S. "The opening of the Cleveland office is another positive step in the growth of our global real estate platform. Ohio is a key market and we are excited to now offer the same level of service, expertise and local knowledge to clients in the Cleveland area."
In his new role, Hurtuk will work closely with the Cincinnati and Columbus offices as part of the State of Ohio platform.
"The presence of Colliers International across the State of Ohio and worldwide is extremely appealing to clientele and creates a streamlined approach for commercial real estate efforts," said Hurtuk. "The breadth of services, cohesiveness across all platforms and the entrepreneurial spirit of the Ohio team is what truly attracted me to join Colliers."
CEO and Principal of Colliers International in Greater Cincinnati, Shenan Murphy, CCIM, said "Brian's dedication to his clients is what we admire most. His professional track record and leadership skills will translate well to his leadership of the Cleveland office. Understanding our culture is key, and Brian will serve as an extension of our vision for the future."
Hurtuk comes to Colliers International from CBRE Inc. where he served as first vice president for the office services group since 2003. Earlier in his career, he worked in development and leasing for Amsdell Companies, Ostendorf-Morris Co., and also served as an accountant and auditor for Ernst & Young (formerly Ernst & Whinney).
CEO and Principal of Colliers International in the Greater Columbus Region, Richard Schuen, CCIM, SIOR, says that Hurtuk is the ideal candidate to lead the Cleveland office because of his involvement in the local community. "His work in the local Cleveland community is admirable and his network of connectivity expands far beyond the office walls."
"The combined experience of Brian, Shenan and Richard leading operations shows a strong investment in our Ohio business," said Murray. "We are excited about the growth potential and new offerings that will be available to clients in this area."
