CommerceHub Hires Merchandising and Marketplace Expert Jim Lofgren
E-Commerce Executive To Lead Merchandising and Customer Growth Initiatives
ALBANY, N.Y., Oct. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- CommerceHub, the industry leading merchandising and fulfillment platform for retailers and suppliers, today announced that Jim Lofgren has joined the company as Chief Merchandising Officer and General Manager Marketplace.
Lofgren will report directly to Frank Poore, CommerceHub's founder and CEO, and will play an integral part in the company's transformation from a technical integrator to a full-scale merchandising and fulfillment platform for omni-channel retailers in North America and Europe.
"We are excited to be transitioning our services into online merchandising and helping our retailers expand their product assortments," said Frank Poore, CEO and Founder of CommerceHub.
"Jim is one of the industry's leading online retail and marketplace leaders. He has a very impressive track record of identifying innovative merchandising solutions and developing platforms to drastically grow revenue for online retail companies both domestically and internationally," Poore added. "We're thrilled to have him on board, and we are confident he will offer our client-partners the absolute best opportunities to achieve their online merchandising and revenue goals."
Prior to joining CommerceHub, Lofgren pioneered marketplace strategy and execution as Vice President and General Manager for OneStopPlus.com, the world's largest online marketplace for plus size apparel, where he grew the business by more than 50 percent. Prior to OneStopPlus.com, Lofgren served as Vice President of E-Commerce and Business Development in the Nordic countries for Ellos, a Swedish home shopping and e-commerce company. He was later promoted to CEO of La Redoute Nordic, one of France's largest distributors of women's clothing. La Redoute was part of the international online fashion and home furnishing conglomerate Redcats, a PPR company.
"As a retailer, the opportunity at CommerceHub was immediately obvious – I can't think of any other company in the industry with the same capability for building assortments and driving revenue growth for retailers," said Lofgren. "We are in a very unique and favorable position to help online retailers identify new merchandising opportunities and grow revenue. Frank has assembled a fantastic team with deep experience in e-commerce and I'm thrilled to be a part of it."
Lofgren relocated from New York City to CommerceHub's headquarters in Upstate New York. Born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, he received a degree in accounting and finance from the London School of Economics, and received a Master in Management, which included studies at the HEC School of Management in Paris.
As part of CommerceHub's move toward online merchandising, the company also recently launched two additional offerings to its cloud-based platform -- ProductStream, a product content management and exchange solution that enables retailers and suppliers to drastically reduce the amount of time it takes to get products available for sale online; and BuySpace, an online marketplace that provides a tradeshow-like environment where buyers, suppliers and marketplace sellers meet and form new business relationships.
