Commerce Appropriator Lauds Steady, Significant Progress for Economy
WASHINGTON, Jan. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Congressman Chaka Fattah (D-PA), senior Democratic appropriator for the Commerce Department on the House Appropriations Committee, issues the following statement on the monthly jobs report issued today:
"Our economy continues its steady and significant progress – 22 consecutive months of private sector job growth, 3.1 million more Americans going to work since February 2010, and the lowest unemployment rate in almost three years. It's another good bounce for the economy today – and another imperative to lock in tax cuts for the middle class and finish the job enacting President Obama's American Jobs Act."
