Comedy Improv Team Plays for Laughs on Crystal Cruises in Alaska This Summer
LOS ANGELES, March 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Crystal Cruises is bringing the Canadian improvisational comedy troupe, Vancouver TheatreSports™ League (VTSL), to Alaska this summer. With their own brand of hilarious interactive improv, the band of merry-makers will regale guests with evening performances, participatory improv workshops, and other impromptu fun on Crystal Symphony's July 8 and July 20 Alaska cruises.

VTSL can also be seen on two earlier Crystal Symphony sailings on the West Coast this spring, starting with March 31's "Treasures of Mexico" cruise and April 10's "Pacific Escape" voyage.
"We tested the troupe in December and the ratings were through the roof," says Chris Corrigall, manager, entertainment. "They're quick, smart and clever and created a lot of onboard buzz. When guests eagerly anticipate the next performance, you know you have a winner."
The League combines dramatic elements of comedy and tragedy with the enthusiasm and edge-of-your-seat excitement of professional sports. Similar in spirit to famous comedy improvisation groups like The Groundlings and Second City, the VTSL has spent over 30 years performing on stage and television throughout the world, with five shows a night, 52 weeks a year in Vancouver, in addition to 250 international private events annually.
On board Crystal, all classes, presentations, and performances are always complimentary, as are activities like junior cruiser programs this summer and specialty restaurant dining in Nobu Matsuhisa's Silk Road and Piero Selvaggio's Prego.
The troupe passes through their hometown of Vancouver on the July "Inside Passage Discovery" and "Islands & Glaciers" Crystal Symphony cruises. Round-trip from San Francisco, additional calls include Victoria, BC and Sitka, Juneau, Skagway/Haines, Glacier Bay, and Ketchikan, Alaska.
These 12-day Alaska itineraries start at $4,890/person, and include air transportation from 24 North American gateways (or generous air credit); $500/person "All Inclusive—As You Wish" spending credits; and possible additional savings for "New-to-Crystal" travelers and/or for family and friend groups of six or more via Crystal's "Family Memories Program."
Crystal Cruises' service, choices, space, quality, and value have earned the luxe line more "World's Best" awards than any other cruise line, resort, or hotel in history.
