Comcast Names Two New Area Vice Presidents for Northern California
Derek Herider Will Be Based in Fairfield and Oakland, and Jeff Votaw Will Be Based in Sacramento
LIVERMORE, Calif., May 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast has installed two veteran operations executives as Area Vice Presidents for key territories in Northern California, naming Derek Herider as the new Area Vice President for the Northeast Bay section of San Francisco and Jeff Votaw as the new Area Vice President for the Sacramento Valley. Both will report to Amy Lynch, Regional Vice President of Technical Operations for Comcast California.

Herider will split time between Oakland and Fairfield, overseeing 770 employees and all aspects of Comcast's operations in the East Bay and North Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as in Eureka and Fort Bragg. He was most recently based in Denver, serving as the Director of Process Management and Customer Experience for Comcast's West Division. Prior to his role in the Customer Experience organization, Herider spent 14 years working in Technical Operations in various capacities. He replaces Paul Gibson who left the company earlier this year.
Before joining Comcast 15 years ago, Herider served in the U.S. Army Infantry stationed in Hawaii. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Networks and Telecommunications Management from the University of Phoenix, as well as an MBA from Colorado Christian University's School of Business.
Votaw will be based in Sacramento, overseeing almost 600 employees and all aspects of operations in Sacramento, Stockton, Modesto, Chico, Oroville, Grass Valley, Marysville and Yuba City. He was most recently based in Fresno, California, serving as Comcast's Area Vice President for the South Valley as well as North Santa Barbara County. Votaw replaces B.J. Daisey who recently transferred to Comcast's headquarters in Philadelphia.
Votaw has been in the cable industry for 32 years and with Comcast for 16 years and also held operations positions for the company in Seattle; Puyallup, Washington; Kent, Washington; San Rafael, California and Fremont, California. He serves as an active member of the Society of Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE).
