Comcast Increases On Demand Movie Lineup by 450 Percent in Oregon and SW Washington Bringing 11,000+ Movie Choices to Customers
Explosion of Entertainment Choices Now Available
BEAVERTON, Ore., Aug. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Comcast announced today that it is expanding the number of movie choices offered On Demand more than 450% by adding nearly 9,000 movie titles. This brings more than 11,000 total movie choices to Oregon and SW Washington customers monthly, featuring thousands of movies from every genre including comedy, action, drama, independent, classics and documentaries – with 3,000 available in HD. The expanded movie offering brings the total number of Comcast On Demand choices in Oregon and SW Washington to more than 25,000.

This expansion of entertainment content in Oregon and SW Washington is part of Comcast's expanded movie offering, which is currently rolling out to Comcast Digital Cable customers across the country. This programming is made possible by a new content storage and distribution system via Comcast's extensive fiber network and enables the company to offer significantly more content in the near future, including TV series, kids content, music and other special programming.
To deliver on the growing consumer appetite for multiplatform entertainment viewing, Comcast also offers a large collection of movies at no additional cost on Xfinity TV online. Customers can also access thousands of movies from their cable subscription, and can buy or rent movies from the online store. A full list of movies is available through Xfinity TV online.
Comcast's expanded movie content is part of the company's commitment to deliver more choice and control to its customers through its Xfinity services, which include 100+ HD channels, 50 to 70 foreign-language channels, On Demand video choices increasing to 25,000 and increased broadband speeds up to 50 Mbps. Xfinity also offers thousands of online entertainment choices through Xfinity TV online as well as applications that enable customers to program a DVR from the Internet or a mobile device, and cross-platform features like Caller ID to the TV and PC.
