Comcast Hometown Network to Televise 25 Northern California Basketball Games
Telecasts Feature Mix of High School and College Men's and Women's Games
Dan Dibley and Dave Lewis to Announce Contests Featuring Top Local Teams
LIVERMORE, Calif., Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast Hometown Network (http://www.comcasthometown.com), Comcast's regional cable network covering Northern and Central California, today announced that it will televise 25 basketball games as part of its ever-expanding Comcast Hometown Sports (CHS) programming (see complete schedule below or at http://comcastcalifornia.mediaroom.com). The games, which will be available on Channel 104 to all Comcast digital cable customers throughout Northern and Central California, will include both high school and college contests featuring both men's and women's teams. The telecasts will begin on Saturday, January 9th at 7:00 p.m. when Clovis East (#16 in the ESPN Rise preseason poll) visits Modesto Christian High School.
Comcast Hometown Network's basketball schedule will feature a number of highly ranked prep programs throughout Northern and Central California, including St. Francis, Sheldon, Clovis East, Bishop O'Dowd, McClymonds and St. Mary's of Berkeley on the boy's side, and St. Mary's of Stockton, Bishop O'Dowd and St. Mary's of Berkeley on the girl's side. The network will also televise the CIF San Francisco Section Finals for both boys and girls on March 6th.
Play-by-play duties for all games will be handled by Dan Dibley of sports radio station KNBR 680-AM, who has worked on Comcast Hometown Network's sports broadcasts for the last two years. Color commentary for the majority of the contests will be provided by longtime KCBS 740-AM sports anchor Dave Lewis who has spent 12 years as the voice of Santa Clara Broncos men's basketball, and has also done play-by-play work for Fox Sports Network and Sirius Satellite Radio. Color commentary for the six Chico State games will be handled by former Chico State women's assistant coach Kathy Brandt. All games will be produced by CHN sports director Erik Alves and directed by Gary Wasley.

All of the telecasts will also be available via Comcast's popular On Demand platform, which is free to Comcast digital customers and allows viewers to pause, rewind and fast forward the games. To view the games via On Demand, Comcast digital customers should tune to Channel 1 (On Demand) and select Get Local > Local Sports > High School Basketball.
