WASHINGTON, Jan. 31, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), a non-profit public-private partnership focused on helping all digital citizens stay safer and more secure online, today announced that Comcast Cable's executive director of Security and Privacy has joined its Board of Directors.

Jay Opperman possesses over 33 years of experience in the telecommunications and data communications markets and has served in a wide range of roles including systems engineering, architecture, strategic product marketing and management. At Comcast, he is responsible for developing and implementing cross platform security strategies for Comcast's Xfinity customers. Opperman is also the founder of Constant Guard™, the most comprehensive program in the ISP industry for online safety and security, protecting millions of Comcast subscribers.

He is also a member of the NTIA's Online Safety Technology Working group, CSRIC Botnet Remediation Working Group, and is a FOSI Outstanding Achievement award winner. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Electronic Engineering and a Masters Degree in Computer Science.
