WASHINGTON, April 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast Business today announced that it has been named the exclusive network services provider for Bethesda Green, a rapidly-growing incubator for environmentally sustainable businesses in Montgomery County, Md., a suburb of Washington, D.C. This agreement provides a 1 Gigabit-per-second (Gbps) Ethernet Dedicated Internet line that outfits the office with fast and reliable Internet access capable of scaling up to 10 Gbps of capacity as business demands evolve.
Bethesda Green is a nonprofit whose mission is to accelerate the local sustainable economy with a focus on innovation, impact and community. The organization houses a fast-growing business incubator that offers numerous networking events, education programs and a co-working facility on site. These amenities attract green technology firms, water and energy innovators, healthy consumer products entrepreneurs, green service providers and nonprofits from around the region.
"Our member organizations share similar values and look at their triple bottom line: people, planet and profit. "Comcast Business gives us reliable network services that can quickly scale up whenever we need it, which has already helped us attract new members who are looking for the most cutting-edge technologies to help them make their mark on the world."
The 1 Gbps Ethernet Dedicated Internet service enables videoconferencing capabilities between members and their customers, provides access to the cloud for file sharing and storage, and expedites the transfer of large digital files for engineering and product development for some of the region's most promising startups.
"Giving the startups at Bethesda Green the technology services they need helps them turn their innovative ideas into a reality and grow their business," said Byron Cantrall, regional vice president for Comcast Business.
