Comcast and Other Industry Experts to Speak on High-Performing and Efficient Data Centers at New Jersey 'DCIM Summit'

SOMERSET, N.J., May 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading data center experts are hosting an event for data center and facilities professionals interested in learning how to optimize data center operations, while reducing costs.  The free half-day event on May 17 will focus on topics ranging from next-generation data center designs to smart racks to data center infrastructure management (DCIM).

Organization growth, data center consolidation and the need to provide more IT-based services place increasing demands on IT staffs and data center resources -- including electrical power, cooling, capacity and space for IT equipment.  To relieve these pressures, data centers must become more efficient -- extremely efficient.  The "DCIM Summit" will present a series of real-world, end-user case studies on making data centers efficient, and the latest trends in DCIM and power and energy management.

DCIM Summit Speakers include:

Comcast -- Richard Werner, Executive Director Data Center Management, on "Future-Proofing Your Data Center" and intelligent rack PDUs and DCIM.

Progilisys Solutions -- Ken Crabtree, President of Progilisys, on "Data Center Migration" and DCIM.

This event will also include a tour of the IO New Jersey data center, which is the largest modular data center and the largest data center in the NYC metropolitan area.  The new 830,000-square-foot data center, which previously served as a newspaper printing plant for the New York Times, has been awarded Tier III Design Certification from the Uptime Institute.
