Thyroid disorders are also very common in Latin American countries, mostly due to iodine deficiency combined with genetic factors.

Taken together, hypertension, heart failure, diabetes and thyroid disorders share common pathophysiologic mechanisms and clinical issues that are often tough tasks to face in clinical practice.
