Colorado Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline Restored After CenturyLink's Nationwide Phone Outage
DENVER, Sept. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- CenturyLink has informed us that toll-free service has been restored to Colorado's Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline (1-844-CO-4-KIDS). The outage, which impacted all toll-free numbers hosted by CenturyLink throughout the nation, resulted in callers to the hotline hearing erroneous, recorded messages that the number was no longer a working number.
We are heartened that this service is once again available throughout the state. The hotline, which was designed to provide one easy-to-remember phone number for reporting suspected child abuse and neglect, is an important tool for helping to keep the children of Colorado safe.
Throughout this disruption, our county partners were on heightened alert and we are thankful for their commitment. We are, once again, encouraging the public to call 1-844-CO-4-Kids to report all concerns for a child's safety and well-being.
