Colo5, LLC Expands To Central Florida Market, Lakeland

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Oct. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Colo5, LLC, a leading independent data center operator headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, announced it will be building out a new data center in Lakeland, Florida.  The new center is scheduled to open in March 2013, servicing the Central Florida market. 

Colo5 chose Lakeland because of land elevation, access to freeways, power costs, the city's fiber optic networks, and to attract business from Central Florida including cities such as Orlando and Tampa.  Colo5 will occupy a facility of about 105,000 square feet in Lakeland. The company plans a $20 million data center and disaster recovery workspace to be built out in 10,000-square-foot phases during the next three years. The new location plans to house both retail and wholesale clients and is designed to be more energy efficient than the Jacksonville location.
