NICE, France, Nov. 15, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- At a gathering of more than 1,000 international physicians and health care professionals attending the 2010 Men's Health World Congress in Nice, France, the Collins Center for Public Policy received two awards for its contributions to advance international men's health issues.

The awards were presented by Dr. Ridwan Shabsigh, President of the Vienna-based International Society for Men's Health (ISMH), which also sponsors the congress. Dr. April Young, Vice President of Health and Justice Initiatives at the Collins Center for Public Policy, was recognized for "Outstanding Contributions" she has made to advance men's health, particularly in the field of social- and economic-disenfranchised men.
The Collins Center organization received an award for "Institutional Appreciation" and was cited for its commitment to support the ISMH and its mission. The "Institutional Appreciation" award was presented to Collins Center President Rod Petrey.

For several years, the Collins Center has administered a program focused on the health needs of poor men in the U.S. and around the world. The organization has also been an active participant in past Congresses and works closely with the ISMH.
