MIAMI, May 18, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Collins Center for Public Policy is pleased to announce the election of nine new members to its board of trustees. With these new members, the Collins Center board adds a wealth of experience and knowledge in fields as varied as the political arena, the media, the law and civic affairs.

The new trustees are:
Raoul G. Cantero – former Justice of the Florida Supreme Court who is now practicing appellate law with White & Case in Miami.
Manny Diaz – former Mayor of the City of Miami and a recent fellow at Harvard's Kennedy Institute who is now practicing law with Lydecker Diaz in Miami.
Al Dotson, Jr. – former President of the Orange Bowl Committee and current National Chair of 100 Black Men. He practices law at Bilzin Sumberg in Miami.
Helen Aguirre Ferre – broadcast journalist and commentator for Diaro de las America and public radio station WPBT. She is also Chair of the Miami-Dade College Board of Trustees.
Pam Iorio – Former Mayor of Tampa and Leadership Speaker. She serves on the University Press of Florida Government and Politics Advisory Board and the Advisory Board of the Reubin Askew Institute on Politics and Society.
Brian Lucas – President/CEO and Vice Chair of the Bonita Bay Group and a civic leader in Ft. Myers. He has an extensive background in management consulting and technology solutions.
Deirdre Macnab – President of the Florida League of Women Voters and a civic leader in the Orlando area.
Joe Oglesby – coordinator of the Haitian News Project and former head of the Editorial Board for the Miami Herald.
Andrew Rosenkranz – Regional Director for Florida Anti-Defamation League. He is both a litigator and a rabbi.
They will join the current 13-member board in June.
