DARTMOUTH, NS, June 26, 2013 /CNW/ - Collins Barrow Nova Scotia's Managing Partner Grant Galbraith was recently elected President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia (ICANS). Within this role, Grant will be instrumental in transitioning ICANS as it comes together with Certified Management Accountants Nova Scotia (CMANS) to form the Chartered Professional Accountants of Nova Scotia (CPANS), a provincial body set to represent the unified accounting profession.
"With the unification, one of my responsibilities will be to ensure the legacy of the merging organizations as well as the integrity and value that we bring as chartered accountants and certified management accountants are preserved," says Grant, who has been involved in a related six-person steering committee for two years. "Over time, both designations have earned the public's trust and it is imperative to uphold this commitment as we move forward."
